LiNC’s PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES (LPDS)

We Launched this curriculum virtually during the pandemic. It is now a hybrid program that includes both Virtual and In Person sessions. The Resume Building Workshop, Mock Interviews, Career Panel and LiNC talks give students a hands-on in person  exposure to  Insurance professionals  who serve as mentors and coaches. This program gives students a comprehensive understanding of the multitude of career paths available in the Risk Management and Insurance world and prepares students for internships.

INTERNSHIPS

Sponsoring companies hire a LiNC student for the summer. Students who have successfully completed LPDS are the ideal and preferred candidates  for the in person internships.  If it’s a good mutual fit, many sponsoring companies invite their interns back to return the following summer or even during the school year.  We are proud to have many of our early interns now pursuing successful careers within the insurance industry at companies like Zurich, AIG, Amwins and Chubb!

Our
Story

“LiNC shifted the trajectory of my life. I think that without LiNC, I wouldn’t have been able to know of a white collar profession, I wouldn’t have been able to know what it meant to be professional or what it meant to have a healthy, stable life. LiNC taught me how to be humble, LiNC taught me to give back, how to always remember where I come from and to be proud of where I come from…..LiNC taught me the value of community service, social justice and consistency.”

-Samantha Marroquin, LiNC Class of 2014 and 2020, UC Riverside , BA Public Policy and BA Education, Society & Human Development

Sponsor Testimonial

“Our LiNC interns were bright and eager to learn and brought a lot of energy to our workplace. They asked insightful questions, learned quickly, and worked very hard to accomplish all that was asked of them. Their enthusiasm rubbed off on even the more seasoned employees and was a very positive experience not only for the interns but for our employees as well.”
